A Big Kitchen Is A Great Gathering Place
A daily reflection from my upcoming book
Joy: There’s No Reason Not To
Lessons from Under My Mother’s Roof
by Todd Keough

My Mom always taught me that a big kitchen is a great gathering place you can invite all kinds of people in and feed them and nourish them. You can show them joy and love and welcome people into your home. This really can be any room and it is more about letting people enter and extending that hospitality and love to all we meet. In an a even deeper sense it is about asking those spirits and entities into our own life and heart. Allowing what we need to into the great room of our heart and spirit. Having that welcoming spirit for all things that can be beneficial and enter the rooms of our own lives.

World:
In what ways can I extend myself to others and be hospitable and open my home or my heart to them? How can I make me people feel welcomed, encouraged, and loved? Do I have a big kitchen somewhere in my life that I can invite those I love into either physically, spiritually, or emotionally?Reflect, write, and take action

Self:
How can I invite those spirits that I desire into my heart and open up the room of myself to let them in and feel that love? Where do I need to expand the rooms I have for myself and be more gracious and loving with those rooms? Am I allowing myself the ability to even comprehend the generosity I need to extend to myself?Reflect, write, and take action

Prayer:
The one who is most gracious and loving and who holds me near and dear to the energies and lifeblood of the universe help me be gracious to myself. Help me to expand the rooms that I have and reach towards other who need to be welcomed in and do what is necessary. May I not be a beckon f fear but I beckon of love that invites all people in with generosity and love. Please help me invite myself into the rooms of my heart where I need to extend more love to myself as well.

Affirmation:
Today I will open the rooms of my heart and of my head to allow others who need love and generosity in. I will extend and reach out to someone I know who struggles to feel welcomed and loved or even to a group of people with words or actions. I also will extend generosity to myself and allow myself to feel others who have welcomed me in. Further, I will open my heart to myself and look in the mirror extending the arms of generosity and love to myself.
