A Big Kitchen Is A Great Gathering Place

My Mom always taught me that a big kitchen is a great gathering place you can invite all kinds of people in and feed them and nourish them. You can show them joy and love and welcome people into your home. This really can be any room and it is more about letting people enter and extending that hospitality and love to all we meet. In an a even deeper sense it is about asking those spirits and entities into our own life and heart. Allowing what we need to into the great room of our heart and spirit. Having that welcoming spirit for all things that can be beneficial and enter the rooms of our own lives.

World:
In what ways can I extend myself to others and be hospitable and open my home or my heart to them? How can I make me people feel welcomed, encouraged, and loved? Do I have a big kitchen somewhere in my life that I can invite those I love into either physically, spiritually, or emotionally?Reflect, write, and take action

Self:
How can I invite those spirits that I desire into my heart and open up the room of myself to let them in and feel that love? Where do I need to expand the rooms I have for myself and be more gracious and loving with those rooms? Am I allowing myself the ability to even comprehend the generosity I need to extend to myself?Reflect, write, and take action

Prayer:
The one who is most gracious and loving and who holds me near and dear to the energies and lifeblood of the universe help me be gracious to myself. Help me to expand the rooms that I have and reach towards other who need to be welcomed in and do what is necessary. May I not be a beckon f fear but I beckon of love that invites all people in with generosity and love. Please help me invite myself into the rooms of my heart where I need to extend more love to myself as well.

Affirmation:
Today I will open the rooms of my heart and of my head to allow others who need love and generosity in. I will extend and reach out to someone I know who struggles to feel welcomed and loved or even to a group of people with words or actions. I also will extend generosity to myself and allow myself to feel others who have welcomed me in. Further, I will open my heart to myself and look in the mirror extending the arms of generosity and love to myself.

Always Greet People With Love

Always Greet People With Love
A daily reflection from my upcoming book
Joy: There’s No Reason Not To
Lessons from Under My Mother’s Roof

I was always taught that you greet people with genuineness and love. I know for me that it can be hard at times. I may be having a bad day and may feel like I have no energy to extend love. However, when I do when I give from my heart and show love to another I receive that love in return. We all need to love and be loved. In this world we become in such a rush to do this or do that we lose sight of true human connection. I know that looking and seeing someone allows me to realize and feel my own beautiful humanity. I also know when someone look at and sees me that I feel a profound gift. We also deriver to greet ourselves with love everyday. When was the last time you looked in the mirror and said I love you?

Today’s Reflection

World:
Who do you know that you can greet with love? What situations will you be walking into today? I want you to imagine your day and all your activities. Who will you see? Where will you go? What will you do? How can you greet all of these situations and people with love? If we greet people with love we help the world live with less fear. You can begin today. Please reflect and write out what you can do today to greet people with love.

Self:
Today I want you to look at your reflection wherever you get a glimpse of it and turn to it and say I love you. This can either be out loud or in your head. How do you think this will make you feel? How will it allow you to be with yourself? This small act will allow you to begin greeting yourself with love at all times and in all circumstances.

Prayer:
All that is and ever was and that dwells inside of me. Help me to seem the love that you have for me and for all your creatures in every avenue of my life today. As you greet me everyday with a beautiful morning and love me throughout the day may I try to bring that love to others. We know that you love us and my prayer and my hope is that I can return that love to all I meet today.

Affirmation:
Today I will greet all I see with love, I will love others and myself, my heart will dwell in love and release the fear.

Let The Oven Warm Up

Let The Oven Warm Up

A daily reflection from my upcoming book

Lessons from Under My Mother’s Roof

My Mom always had to tell me to allow the oven time to warm up before I would put anything in it. I was always in such a rush that I would want to throw whatever I was cooking in. It made food come out cooked unevenly or not like it was supposed to be. I did not have the patience to use the oven as it was properly intended. I was always in a rush to get whatever it was done faster and faster. The oven, in my mind, always seemed to be taking forever to warm up and even at times was taunting me. This is also how I lived my life. It is also how I think the world works now. We want things done now, we want replies now, we live in such an instantaneous world that we hardly ever slow down to let the oven warm up. When I do it it actually is a grace and blessing to let things get done in the right time. I am able to relax and not be uptight or fraught with anxiety. If I allow a relationship to slowly develop it becomes stronger. If I allow my work or project to develop I am able to concentrate on it and make sure all of the objectives are met. I also have more time for people in my life because I am not rushing from here to there but allowing myself to spend time where I am.

World:

Where in the world or with whom in the world do I need to show a little more patience waiting for the oven to warm up? Where in the world do I act with patience and wait for what I need to be done? Do I give myself credit for that? Reflect, write, and take action.

Self:

Where do I need or want to give myself time to warm up and proceed when things are ready? Do I give myself credit for all I do and allow myself not to rush but just move through the world with patience and ease? How can I let go of the fast paced world that affects my being and life? Reflect, write, and take action.

Prayer:

Creator please let me allow the oven to warm up and do things when the time is right and ready. Let me have patience and not give into the hectic and craziness of this fast paced world allowing myself to enjoy and just be.

Affirmation:

Today I will slow down and I will wait for the oven of my life to warm up and have the patience to wait for what comes next. I will proceed when the time is right and ready with one action today or with one interaction.
